Dear Chamber Members and Partners:
This evening, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff and San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg extended the Stay Home, Work Safe order until Tuesday, May 19. Under this order, gatherings beyond members of a household are still prohibited and social distancing is still required in any shared outdoor spaces or stores. San Antonians above the age of 10 must continue wearing face coverings while in a place where it is difficult to social distance such as in grocery stores or pharmacies. In addition, businesses must provide cloth face coverings to employees who are in close proximity to co-workers or the public.
We applaud the work done by those business and healthcare leaders on the local and state levels tasked with developing strategic plans to reopen our local and state economies. We look forward to the phased approach to reopen San Antonio and Texas in an effort to get all Texans back to work. At the same time, we understand the importance of heeding the advice of our healthcare professionals.
Businesses and residents of San Antonio have made great sacrifices to keep our entire community safe. We are extremely fortunate to be part of a community that is supportive and that continually does the right thing for the good of all residents.
Please continue to stay safe and healthy
