Important Dates

Dear Chamber Members and Partners:

As we continue to stay home to stay safe, I want to remind you of a few important programs that are available to help you and your businesses during these difficult times. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), which was included in the second federal stimulus package, went into effect yesterday. The act provides tax credits to employers who have fewer than 500 employees to cover the cost of providing employees with paid leave taken for specified reasons related to COVID-19. For more information and details concerning FFCRA and its impact on your business, click here.

The next important date on your calendar should be tomorrow, April 3. Starting tomorrow, under the Paycheck Protection Program, small business owners and sole proprietorships can take advantage of forgivable loans to cover their payroll and other certain expenses through existing SBA lenders. Independent contractors and self-employed individuals are eligible to receive these loans starting Friday, April 10. You can apply through any existing SBA lender or through any federally insured depository institution, federally insured credit union, or Farm Credit System institution that is participating.

As always, please stay safe and stay vigilant!
